Rule Out Simple Playback Controls
Raise the application and system volume, check the mute state, and confirm that sound is routed to the intended speakers or headphones. Bluetooth devices can remain selected after they are placed in another room. On a computer, the operating system’s volume mixer may mute one application while other programs still produce sound.
Move to several points in the video. Some recordings begin with silence, and one scene may intentionally contain no audio. Test another known file in the same player. If that file is also silent, resolve the device or application output before changing the MP4.
